PETE JENSON: Ousmane Dembele has a reputation for loving video games and partying more than football… he’s a rare talent but do Manchester United REALLY want to take a risk on him?

PETE JENSON IN SPAIN:- If Manchester United go through with the loan signing of Ousmane Dembele (pictured in action last weekend, bottom right), they’ll be acquiring a player whose speed and two-footed talent make him unplayable when he is at his best. But they would also be getting someone whose dreadful luck with injuries (bottom left) make him a massive gamble. United need a forward and Barcelona have a surplus, including Antoine Griezmann (centre, with Dembele, and top right). Dembele is the one they would be happiest to lose — his three years at the club have so far have been a financial embarrassment for them and an endless slog of set-backs for him.

How close is the NHS to being ‘overwhelmed’? Just 1,800 out of 110,000 occupied beds are taken up by Covid-19 patients as thousands more than normal die at home of other causes

The most NHS recent snapshot — released three weeks ago — shows just 478 out of 110,000 beds in use were by Covid-19 patients on September 3. This has since risen to 1,883, according to Department of Health data. Health chiefs have yet to update the total beds occupied figure since but it barely changed over the summer. Even at the peak of the crisis in Britain, only a quarter of all beds were occupied by virus patients. On April 7, 26.5 per cent of the 67,206 people in England’s hospitals were being treated for coronavirus — the highest proportion on record. Separate data (top inset graph) also shows NHS hospitals across England and Wales are still recording hundreds of fewer deaths than expected each week. They haven’t had any excess deaths — more fatalities than expected — since mid-May. The heat map shows how many patients were admitted to hospital in each of the different regions between September 20 and 26, while the graphs for each region show how many patients are currently in hospital with Covid-19 and how that has changed since the pandemic began.

HUNDREDS of students cram into Coventry University halls for illegal late-night rave flouting ‘rule of six’ — despite rising outbreaks of coronavirus among freshers across the UK

At least 200 students are thought to have crammed into a common room at Arundel House, close to Coventry University’s main campus, ignoring social distancing guidelines and the rule of six. Some revellers could be heard screaming, while a group of male students clambered on top of a ping pong table as they sang along to the thumping music. The accommodation block is just a two minute walk from campus and is also close to the town centre. A spokesman said Coventry University was aware of the incident and said any students found to be in breach of the university’s code of conduct could face disciplinary proceedings. An investigation is underway to find the organisers of the party, with police shutting down communal areas in the accommodation blocks and beefing up security in light of last night’s gathering. The footage emerged despite coronavirus causing havoc at universities across the country. Up to 4,000 students across Britain are now self-isolating for a fortnight after more than 500 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed across at least 32 universities. There have been 5 diagnosed cases of Covid-19 at Coventry but the students have not been asked to self-isolate or go into a local lockdown at this stage.

Lottery Strategies TO HELP YOU WIN Ireland Daily Million

Lottery numbers are randomly drawn. But randomly drawn numbers form patterns
that can be tracked and used to our advantage. Having carefully analyzed all the
drawings in past lotto results of more than 200 different lotto games worldwide, with
histories going back as far as 1955, we have verified the following incredibly
simple rule:

That which is MOST POSSIBLE happens MOST OFTEN.
That which is LEAST POSSIBLE happens LEAST OFTEN.

The key to Smart Luck’s successful lotto number selection methods is playing
the probabilities. If you play a pattern that occurs only five
percent of the time, you can expect that pattern to lose 95
percent of the time, giving you no chance to win 95 percent of
the time. So, don’t buck the probabilities.

HOW TO PLAY DAILY MILLION

It’s a number draw game in which you can pick any six numbers (from 1 to 39). At each draw six random numbers are drawn, along with one bonus number. The minimum play for Daily Million is one panel per draw. Each panel you play costs €1.

The top prize is €1 million!

Draws take place twice a day, every day (2pm and 9pm) and the results can be viewed here an hour after each draw.

Sales close at 2pm and 9pm precisely and don’t reopen until 10 minutes after each draw has finished. Any tickets bought for the next draw will be eligible in that draw, right up to terminal closing.

PLAYING DAILY MILLION PLUS

This gives you an extra chance to win €500,000 for just 50 cent! If you select to play this draw, the words PLUS YES will be printed on your ticket.

WINNING OPTIONS
Matched Numbers Winnings
Match 6 Wins or share €1 Million
Match 5 + Bonus €10,000
Match 5 €500
Match 4 +Bonus €100
Match 4 €25
Match 3 + Bonus €10
Match 3 €3

In the event that the €1 Million top prize is not won, it does not rollover to the next Daily million draw. This applies to all categories in the Daily million Game.

Expected prize payout per Daily Million draw is 54.23% of Gross Revenue for that draw. This may vary depending on the actual prize payout on any given Daily Million draw.

‘Sir Alex Ferguson BEGGED me to stay!’: Man Utd’s most famous flop Massimo Taibi says it was his decision to leave Old Trafford back in 2000… and says he is NOT the Premier League’s worst ever keeper

Massimo Taibi’s name has become synonymous with the infamous howler for Manchester United against Southampton but he insists the criticism was deeply unfair. The goalkeeper has opened up about a family issue causing him private turmoil at the time and revealed Sir Alex Ferguson was desperate for him to stay at the club. Taibi joined United in 1999 for £4.5million after Peter Schmeichel had left but he returned to Italy the following year having only played four games for the first team. Footage of the stopper allowing Matt le Tissier’s shot to roll through his legs and dribble into the net is still replayed but time has allowed old wounds to heal — at least partially — and Taibi can now reflect on the blunder and his time at United.

From a terraced home in Blackburn to self-made billionaires on the brink of buying Asda: Rags-to-riches story of petrol station pioneer brothers, 48 and 49, bidding to bring supermarket giant back under British control

Mohsin Issa, 49, and his brother Zuber, 48, (left) whose parents came to Britain from India ‘with nothing’, built EG Group from one site bought for £150,000 in 2001 into a £9billion giant employing 44,000 staff. The brothers are now worth an estimated £3.56bn, including a £25m Kensington townhouse (top right) and a private jet that is kept in a hangar at Blackpool Airport alongside Donald Trump’s personal helicopter. They are also building five identical mansions just three miles from the humble Blackburn two-up two-down where they were raised (bottom right). Inset is an image of an Asda store.

How to WIN Ireland Daily Million Lotto

ODD-EVEN LOTTO NUMBER TIPS

When you select your Ireland Lotto numbers, try to have a relatively even mix of odd and
even numbers. All odd numbers or all even numbers are rarely drawn, occurring only
one percent of the time. The best mix is to have 2/4, 4/2 or 3/3, which means two
odd and four even, or four odd and two even, or three odd and three even. One of
these three patterns will occur in 81 percent of the drawings.

HIGH-LOW LOTTO NUMBER TIPS

Winning numbers are usually spread across the entire number field. If we take a
number field and cut it in half, we have the low half and the high half. In a
39-number game like Irish Daily Million, numbers 1 to 20 would be in the low half, and numbers 21 to 39
would be in the high half. All high numbers or all low numbers are rarely drawn, occurring
only 1 percent of the time. The best mix is to have 2/4, 4/2 or 3/3, which means
two high and four low, or four high and two low, or three high and three low.
Winning number groups with these three patterns occur in 81 percent of all drawings.

LOTTERY NUMBER GROUP STRATEGIES

Look at a list of past winning numbers for Ireland Daily Million results, and you’ll see,
more often than not, that one or more of the number groups is not represented. For
example, in the combination 5-14-17-32-38-39, there are no 20’s. Tracking and studying
Number Groups can help you decide which group to omit and which group to give extra
heavy play.

LOTTERY GAMES SKIPPED STRATEGIES

List the number of games skipped (games out) since the last hit (win) for each of
the winning numbers during the last five games. Then mark the number of times each
skip occurred. If any skip from 0 to 5 did not occur, play the Lotto numbers that
are out that many games. (Help working with lotto games skipped.)

LOTTO NUMBER SUM ADVICE — PLAY A BALANCED GAME

After you choose six Dailymillion lotto numbers you want to play, add them together and make sure
that the sum of the six numbers adds up to somewhere between 93 and 147. Sums that
fall within that range will account for over 70 percent of all lottery jackpots won.

REPEAT HITS LOTTERY TIPS

In Ireland Daily Million, on average, one lottery number will be a repeat hit from the last drawing 65 percent
of the time.

HOT NUMBER LOTTERY SECRETS

Numbers that have been out (losers) for five games or less account for about
half of the winning numbers drawn. Losing numbers
that have been out
ten games or less account for 84 percent of all the winning numbers. This tells
us that hot numbers are more likely to hit, but don’t forget to include at
least one long shot in your group of 6.

COLD NUMBER LOTTERY SECRETS

It is difficult to know when a cold number will end a long losing streak. If you play a
number every drawing because you think it is due, you could be chasing it
for many months. (Number 45 in New York Lotto sat out 100 drawings before it
finally hit.) Although, when a number has been out for 70 games or so, it might be
worth chasing.

Save Money by Knowing Lotto Numbers to Avoid

Lotto players who select their lottery numbers thoughtlessly or foolishly are destined to lose even before the drawing takes place.
By knowing which number combinations and patterns to avoid, you’ll have an advantage over such players—and save money, too.

AVOID NUMBER COMBINATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN DRAWN BEFORE

Many players like to bet the numbers that have won someone else a big jackpot, and
by doing so, they are almost guaranteed NOT to win one themselves. In Daily Million,
with seven drawings a week, a set of 6 numbers has a chance of being drawn once
every 8,939 years!!! This should also answer the question we are so often asked,
«Shouldn’t I keep playing the same set of numbers every week because they are due
to hit sometime?»

AVOID BETTING SIX CONSECUTIVE LOTTO NUMBERS

Six consecutive numbers have never been drawn in any state or international lotto game.
Smart Luck has all the drawing results for more than 190 state and international lottery games, going back more than fifty years!
Even five consecutive numbers is a very rare occurrence that, in most Lotto games, has never happened once.

AVOID BETTING ONE LOTTO NUMBER GROUP

Never choose all six numbers from one number group, such as all single digits, or
all teens, or all 20’s, etc. All six winning numbers drawn from one group is
highly unlikely.

AVOID THE LOTTO COMBINATION 1-2-3-4-5-6

The most popular set of numbers most often played is: 1-2-3-4-5-6. Thousands of
tickets are bought with this combination every drawing. The selection
is too far out of balance to come up in a random drawing.

AVOID PATTERN BETTING

Pattern betting
is an even more popular method of marking bet slips. Patterns of
numbers marked in a row to make a straight line, either across the bet slip
vertically or diagonally get heavy play—which means having to split the prize with
others if your numbers win the game. Other designs such as patterns of
initials or numbers or crosses also get heavy play.

AVOID NUMBER MULTIPLES

Other popular combinations that get heavy play are the number multiples, especially
5-10-15-20-25-30 and 7-14-21-28-35-42.

AVOID ALL SAME LAST DIGITS

Many people want to pick their lotto numbers with a single last digit, such as 3-13-23-33-43,
or all numbers that
end in seven, or another favorite lucky lottery number. Even four numbers with the same last digit occur
in less than two-tenths of one percent of all drawings. Winning lotto tickets with
three last digits the same occur in less than 3 percent of all drawings. Winning sets
of numbers with no more than one repeated last digit represent nearly 90 percent of all
drawings.

AVOID LOW NUMBER COMBINATIONS

The majority of Lotto players like to play the calendar numbers, such as birth
dates and anniversaries—and their children’s ages. This means that the most
heavily played numbers are 1 through 31. Daily Million has 39 numbers. If you play
only the calendar numbers, you might be sharing your jackpot with dozens of other
winners. It’s not to say that you shouldn’t play your personal numbers if you feel these lucky numbers are good to play. But we recommend that you include a couple of high
numbers so that just in case your numbers do hit, you win a prize that’s worth
something.

NIX LOTTO QUICK PICKS

Quick Picks are used by lazy people who want to be in the action without putting
any effort into winning. When you read articles about jackpot winners, it appears
as though they all used either Quick Picks, birth dates, or their children’s ages.
The vast majority of people do play that way. If the majority of tickets sold are
Quick Picks, then it makes sense that the majority of jackpots won should be won
with Quick Picks. However, when you see the actual lotto statistics, as Gail Howard did, you’ll find that you have
a better chance of winning by picking numbers randomly out of a hat than by using
Quick Picks.

NBA FINALS: LeBron James is desperate to win the Lakers a first championship in a decade, months after Kobe Bryant’s tragic helicopter crash… but the four-time MVP must beat Miami Heat — the side he first took to glory — to do it

LeBron James’ (left) Los Angeles Lakers will take on the King’s former side in the Miami Heat (bottom right) and while those from LA go into the seven-game series as heavy favourites, the underdog Heat have relished being written off. It has been a particularly trying year for the Lakers, along with the rest of the NBA, with the death of franchise icon Kobe Bryant (top right) in a helicopter crash in January. Bryant’s death, alongside daughter and future WNBA star Gianna, has left an indelible mark and has been an added motivation for the squad to win the championship as a tribute to one of the Lakers’ all-time greats. For the Heat nobody predicted them to go the distance. They came through a well-drilled Indiana Pacers team, a Milwaukee Bucks squad with the best record in the NBA and an exciting Boston Celtics team to get this far. Sportsmail breaks down the key areas of the NBA Finals, who to keep an eye on and why it is time to simply appreciate the body of LeBron’s work after 17 years in the NBA.

Lottery Wheels

USE BALANCED WHEEL SYSTEMS

Balanced Wheeling Systems allow you to bet a large group of numbers (more than 5), play scientific combinations of that group of numbers, and get a specific minimum win guarantee.
Balanced Wheels force all the winning numbers that are in your group to come together to give you at least one prize if some or all of the winning numbers are in your chosen group.

It’s true that the more numbers you wheel, the easier it is to trap the winning
numbers in your chosen group. But to get the most leverage for your money, the optimum
number of numbers to wheel is not more than four or five numbers over HALF the numbers
in your game. To win Daily Million, you should wheel less than 24 numbers.
Otherwise, you’ll be spending MORE money chasing a SMALLER guaranteed prize.
You benefit more by wheeling a carefully selected group of lotto numbers.

THE BEST WAY TO WHEEL ALL THE LOTTO NUMBERS IN YOUR GAME

Any one wheeling
system that covers ALL the numbers in the game is too spread out, making the win
guarantee not worth the wager. There are smart ways to wheel all the numbers in
the game by using Trap-by-Overlap and other wheeling strategies covered on pages
137 to 142 in the Lottery Master Guide.

Most of Smart Luck’s lottery winners used a Balanced Wheel in addition to her Smart Luck number selection methods.
You can use a FREE interactive Balanced Wheel Lottery System that won multiple lotto jackpots.
Read about our lottery winners, too.
And when you win a jackpot with Smart Luck lotto systems, tell us about it so you can be added to Gail Howard’s growing list of lottery winners.
If you don’t want your name publicized, we will honor that.

World-renowned female powerlifter Anna Turaeva wins apology from airline after they refused to let her board a flight without proving she was a woman

Russian World champion powerlifter Anna Turaeva, 42 (pictured left with her dog, right in the gym and top-inset in a park) has spoken of her horror after airport security asked her to prove she was a women after they saw her gender listed on her passport. She said she was initially barred from flying with Russian airline Utair from St Petersburg to her home city Krasnodar via Moscow, because the security staff believed her to be a man. She said that after calmly explaining to the officials, she was eventually permitted to board, but has since struck out at the airline for how they treated her. Jon Venables is REFUSED parole — with James Bulger’s family saying they can ‘rest easy’ as 38-year-old murderer is told he must stay in jail after child porn conviction

Jon Venables, 38 (left aged 10 after his arrest for killing James Bulger), and his friend Robert Thompson were 10 in 1993, when they killed James Bulger (inset), two, after taking him from a shopping centre in Bootle, Merseyside. They served eight years before being freed on licence with lifelong anonymity, before Venables was jailed in 2010 for child pornography. He was released three years later with yet another new identity but was sent back to prison after more child porn was found in his laptop in 2017. His bid to be released on parole has now been refused and it is understood he will have to spend another two years in jail before he can apply for it again. Venables would normally be allowed out automatically after 20 months, but he has a life licence, meaning he has to face the parole board before he is released and is on parole until he dies. James’ father Ralph (right) Bulger hailed the decision to deny Venables parole.

Arsenal and Chelsea need midfield steel, United want to boost their attack, Spurs are after a centre-back and West Ham want additions in FIVE positions! This is who EVERY boss is chasing before the transfer deadline

The clock is quickly ticking down to Monday night’s transfer deadline and the vast majority of Premier League clubs still urgently need reinforcements. It’s time for action at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United (left) as they chase a right-sided winger and greater defensive strength. At Chelsea, Frank Lampard (third left) is short in defence and midfield, while Pep Guardiola (second right) may still bring in a left-back. Leeds United are getting there with Marcelo Bielsa (right) getting a midfielder in Michael Cuisance, but a winger is still a possibility. Scott Parker (third right) needs defenders after they shipped 10 goals in three games, while David Moyes and West Ham (second left) are searching for players in five different positions. Only Jurgen Klopp’s (centre) Liverpool and Newcastle are satisfied with their squads as we approach the final countdown.

Rave of rebellion: Single superspreader is blamed for Swansea University outbreak after infecting 32 people at house party while Liverpool students host boozy halls bash — as infections sweep 47 campuses

Swansea University (inset) said the coronavirus-infected superspreader ‘came from outside the area’ and attended a ‘particular party’ sparking the outbreak. Even so, no formal quarantine measures in student halls — such as those seen in Manchester and Glasgow — have been introduced as the cases have not been linked to private accommodation blocks and not the university’s campus. Liverpool John Moores University’s campus has also remained quarantine-free, despite footage of a huge booze-fuelled rave in an accommodation hall surfacing today. A group of students — some standing on furniture — were seen crowding together inside the university’s Cambridge Court halls as they danced and sang along to Dizzee Rascal song Bonkers (main).

‘He turned pro in the same year I had my first amateur fight!’ Anthony Joshua believes Tyson Fury has not ‘progressed as quickly as him’ at heavyweight level… as they prepare for huge unification fight next year

Joshua (main) and Fury (inset, top-right) have a two-fight ‘financial agreement’ in place for next year provided they can overcome bouts before that, with Joshua set to face mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev before the year is out and Fury needing to beat Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight. The Gypsy King, at 32, is 14 months older than AJ but with the pair on a collision course to decide the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Joshua decided to put both of their careers in perspective. Joshua, 30, first fought professionally in October 2013, having won gold at the 2012 Olympics in London, while Fury fought professionally for the first time in December 2008.

Sgt Ratana murder suspect ‘was caught in school with an air gun’ as pictures emerge of him posing with a 5ft medieval SWORD after school friends said he was ‘good with weapons’

Alleged gunman Louis De Zoysa, 23, remains in a critical condition after apparently blasting himself during a tussle with officers after Sgt Ratana was hit in the heart in the Croydon police station. These images of De Zoysa posing with a 5ft medieval sword emerged after claims from friends in his school leavers’ book that he was ‘good with weapons’. And it came as further details were revealed about his life yesterday. One former classmate has claimed De Zoysa was caught with an air gun at school and would also surf the dark web and had an ‘anti-establishment attitude’. He excelled at the Catholic John Fisher School in Purley, south London, before studying mechanical engineering at University College London — where these images of him with the blade and shield were taken in 2017. Friends said he was very intelligent but dropped out after just a year.

Real Madrid confirm Eden Hazard has picked up ANOTHER injury with the Belgian star suffering from a muscle problem after missing start of LaLiga with ankle blow… crushing his hopes of returning against Real Valladolid

Eden Hazard’s hopes of making his injury return for Real Madrid have been scuppered after he suffered yet another fitness issue — with the club confirming he has sustained a leg muscle problem. The Belgian star has endured a nightmare year at the Bernabeu, failing to settle into the squad under Zinedine Zidane (inset middle) as he scored just once last season before an ankle injury ruled him out for a huge chunk of the campaign. He has missed his club’s opening two LaLiga matches of the season due to the same problem and has not played since a Champions League defeat to Manchester City in early August.

China muzzled its Bat Woman: Beijing authorities hushed up the findings of a scientist who unlocked the genetic make-up of the coronavirus within days of the outbreak – which is vital for tests and vaccines

A Chinese scientist who is the one of the world’s leading experts on coronaviruses was ‘muzzled’ after unraveling the genetic composition of the new disease, which is crucial for developing diagnostic tests and vaccines.

The revelation will fuel fresh concerns over China’s cover-up of the pandemic after it erupted in the city of Wuhan. Critics argue that Communist Party chiefs frustrated efforts to contain the outbreak before it exploded around the world.

At the centre of the new claims is Shi Zhengli, known as China’s ‘Bat Woman’ after years spent on difficult virus-hunting expeditions in dank caves that have led to a series of important scientific discoveries.

The virologist was called back to her highsecurity laboratory in Wuhan at the end of last year after a mysterious new respiratory condition in the city was identified as a novel coronavirus – and within three days she completed its gene sequencing.

A virology lab like the one Shi Zhengli completed the gene sequencing of the coronavirus

Her team’s work, and several other breakthroughs in subsequent days, indicated the virus was linked to horseshoe bats found more than 1,000 miles away in Yunnan, a region of southern China.

Their findings showed it was similar to SARS, a respiratory disease that sparked an epidemic in 33 countries after emerging from China in 2002.

Gao Yu, a Chinese journalist freed last week after 76 days of lockdown in Wuhan, said he spoke to Shi during his incarceration and revealed: ‘We learned later her institute finished gene-sequencing and related tests as early as January 2 but was muzzled.’

She warned, according to a leak on social media confirmed by activists and Hong Kong media, that ‘inappropriate and inaccurate information’was causing ‘general panic’ – thought to refer to eight whistle-blowing doctors whose warnings to local citizens had led to their arrest.

Wang said the National Health Commission ‘unequivocally requires that any tests, clinical data, test results, conclusions related to the epidemic shall not be posted on social media platforms, nor shall be disclosed to any media outlets including government official media, nor shall be disclosed to partner institutions.’

Eight days later, a team led by a professor in Shanghai who received samples from an infected patient, published a genome sequence on an open access platform.

His laboratory was closed for ‘rectification’ two days later.

Shi Zhengli is known as China’s ‘Bat Woman’ after years spent on difficult virus-hunting expeditions in dank caves that have led to a series of important scientific discoveries

At the time, the public was being told that no new cases had been reported in Wuhan for more than a week and there was no clear evidence of human transmission, although dozens of health workers were starting to fall ill with the disease.

In an online lecture last month, Shi Zhengli said her team found on January 14 that the new virus could infect people – six days before this fact was revealed by China.

On the same day, the World Health Organisation issued a tweet backing China’s denials of human transmissions.

Shi’s team released its data identifying the disease on January 23 on a scientific portal before publication the next month by the journal Nature.

It said the genomic sequence was 96 per cent identical to another virus they found in horseshoe bats in Yunnan.

Shi is a specialist in emerging diseases and has earned global acclaim for work investigating links between bats and coronaviruses, aided by expeditions to collect samples and swabs in the fetid cave networks of southern China.

She was a key part of the team that traced SARS to horseshoe bats through civets, a cat-like creature often eaten in China.

Roma make last-ditch £13.5m offer to sign Manchester United defender Chris Smalling… with centre back facing season on the sidelines under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should he not secure return to Italy

ALVISE CAGNAZZO IN ITALY: Smalling, who has been at Old Trafford since 2010, spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan to the Serie A club (left) and impressed in the Italian capital, making 37 appearances in all competitions. Roma have been pursuing a centre back all summer and Smalling, 30, remains their number one target and their latest offer of £10.9m (€12m) plus £2.7m (€3m) in add-ons is currently being considered. United are open to selling Smalling, who is not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans at Old Trafford and faces a season on the sidelines should he not secure a move away in the coming days.

How to Get Lucky in Lotto

CASH IN ON THE LUCK OF OTHERS

When you form a Lotto pool, your group is also pooling its aggregate luck. A
jackpot could happen because of the luck just one member brings to your pool.
Select your partners carefully. Share your luck with winners, not losers. Avoid
negative people. Not only are they unlucky, but they dampen enthusiasm and drain
energy from others. You want to enhance your own luck, not dilute its strength. One
quick way to tell winners from losers is simply to ask them: «Do you think you
are a lucky person?» Many people quickly admit, «I’m unlucky. I never win
anything.» They won’t bring good luck to your group either.

CASH IN ON A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

No one should play games of chance out of desperation because they need a
fast cash payout. The needy have a greater fear of losing the hard-earned money they gamble
with. It is just one of life’s dirty tricks that the very fear of losing blocks the
winning forces. Thoughts are charged with energy, especially when triggered by
emotion. Fear attracts exactly that which one fears. A strong desire for a goal
that is charged with positive energy, attracts a positive response, especially when
every effort is made to attain that goal.

Breast-baring drunken mother-of-two, 33, avoids jail after £4,000 kebab shop rampage when she falsely claimed she had been raped

Ann Marie Fowler, 33, was spared a prison sentence and told to pay £400 compensation after she trashed takeaway Kebabish in Falkirk during an outburst shortly before midnight on July 21. Footage captured the moment Fowler threw food, flashed her breasts at horrified workers, smashed a glass cabinet and hit the owner in the head with a charity collection tin. She also grabbed a worker by the t-shirt as he was on the phone to police, and shouted ‘you raped me, you raped me’ while pulling down her top and bra to expose her breasts. Fowler — who was on her way back from visiting her son in hospital — admitted racially aggravated assault and a string of other offences when she appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court.

A MILLION women miss vital breast screening: Huge backlog after coronavirus lockdown means thousands of patients could have undetected cancer… with 986,000 waiting for life-saving mammograms

A million women have missed out on breast cancer screening (pictured inset: A library image of a woman receiving a screening) as a result of lockdown. The huge backlog means the killer disease may have gone undetected in around 8,600 of them. The charity Breast Cancer Now estimates that 986,000 patients are waiting for life-saving mammograms because screening ground to a halt when the pandemic struck. Early diagnosis hugely improves survival chances and doctors warned the delays mean young and otherwise healthy women will ‘die unnecessarily’. One woman, Karen King (pictured right), from Southampton, says a mammogram saved her life, while another woman, Susan Daniels (pictured left), says she was ‘blissfully unaware’ she might have breast cancer when her mammogram was cancelled at the start of lockdown. She has described screenings as ‘vital’ for early detection.

Just what the doctor ordered! ROBERT HARDMAN examines new Covid-19 testing machines after Mail Force charity donates £1m in lab equipment to keep hospital staff safe

ROBERT HARDMAN: To the untrained eye, it could be a photocopier with a few plastic trays on top. Except that you need to wear a gown, mask and gloves and enter a secure zone via two pressurised doors to access this particular piece of dull grey machinery (pictured main and bottom right). Covid-19 may be hell-bent on giving us a miserable autumn followed by a non-existent Christmas. But here at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool (pictured inset), staff are determined to keep things as normal as possible as the nights start to close in and the wards enter what one doctor calls ‘the business months’. And that, in turn, is entirely dependent on a fast, accurate system of testing (pictured top right) — not just for Covid-19 but for all respiratory viruses; and not just for patients but, just as importantly, for staff and those who live with them.
